Black Bear book launch and film screening 

Yukon author Trina Moyles is launching her latest book Black Bear in Whitehorse on 9 January, 2026, and Joanna is delighted to be hosting the event which will include a screening of Grizzly Consensus, a short documentary film by Allan Code featuring bear guide Phil Timpany. Trina, Allan and Phil will all be present at the event and will take part in a panel discussion.

When: Monday 9 January 2026, 7pm (doors open 6.45pm)

Poetry and fiction readings in 2026

Joanna is planning readings and workshops for 2026 in Canada and in the UK.

Joanna has given readings, talks and workshops at as far afield as Iceland and Alaska as well as in her home town of Whitehorse, Yukon, and online. She's read on a train, boat and lakeshore and in a meadow and a gallery, as well as in libraries, theatres, cafes and community centres.

Joanna is also available for book club appearances. You can use book club questions to spark discussion about Joanna's poetry book, Endlings, which is all about extinct animals. 

You can borrow Joanna's novel, Worry Stones, as a book club set at the Whitehorse Public Library in Yukon.
